May be Ozil and his agents don't use media like others do.

That's one explanation for sure.

Another may be that in the realm of transfer "news" media outlets are as clueless as to what is going on behind the scenes as we are and that in the absence of any reliable information they go with the stories that will attract click fall.
The purpose and aim of the transfer area of any media site is not to inform, it's to get your attention, hold your attention and keep you coming back.

You only need to read Arsenal forums to understand who out of Özil and Sanchez attracts more interest and favour from the fans.
It's not Özil.
Therefore if you're going to go with a big Arsenal summer transfer saga drama Alexis is your man.

As for the definite interest from City, Bayern - have senior people at either of those clubs publicly and explicitly said that they want to buy him?

Where is the interest for Sanchez? Bayern have scoffed at him and PSG haven't made an approach, all that media speculation was complete fabrication. Only real interest seems to be from the team that finished 3 points ahead of us.

That Bayern aren't willing to break their wage structure for Sanchez isn't the same thing as them not being interested in him.

Until they sign then IMO they are both likely to leave.
With the current insanity of transfer fees being demanded with all of Dembele, Mbappe, Coutinho being valued at over 100m, it is little surprise that there is little 'real' interest in the market for 2 elite level players who are effectively able to sign an undertaking to join in less than 6 months time, just as we did to sign Kolasinac.
I'd almost guarantee that most elite clubs will be very interested in any such potential bargain opportunities for the likes of Wilshere, Ox, Ozil & Sanchez. The only 'benefit' to us being that domestic clubs can not do so until they are free agents or we allow them to do so.
