It is incorrect to say that the Chelsea starting 11 right now is made up of players signed over the last 3 seasons given that Hazard (arguably their best player) was signed in 2012.
You could argue that without Hazard Chelsea would not have won those titles in 2015 and 2017.

That rough figure of 70m comes mainly down to the 15/16 season where we spent 10m compared to their 60m, as I mentioned. This wasn't down to Kroenke not providing funds as Gazidis and Wenger said the money was there, it was due to Wenger not buying for whatever reasons.

Your argument that Kroenke doesn't go toe to toe with Chelsea doesn't stand as the funds were there, Wenger didn't spend it. For the other two seasons (14/15 and 16/17) we spent roughly the same amount as Chelsea.

As qs pointed out: "it takes alot of twisting things around to claim we are spending the same amount as Chelsea, United, City, etc"

Why it is being twisted here I do not know.

“There is a realisation within the club that he wants to go. He wants to go,” Cross said.

We will sell if he hands in a transfer request. I am quite sure about that , where it gets cloudy is if he wants to go to City and we demand he go outside of England.

Get Lemar in, keep hold of Özil, Sánchez and Giroud and we'll have some genuinely decent forward options in the upcoming season.

Could afford to lose two out of three of Ox, Walcott and Welbeck with that sort of business.

But let Sánchez go and there is really no chance of us finding players to fill the gap he will leave.

I don't think it's a fannish exaggeration to say that Sánchez staying is probably worth an immediate average £15m in revenue in the 2018-2019 season, given how likely he would be to make the difference between CL requalification and not.

Agree. We should let Walcott and Welbeck go in any case and play Perez for the few games they play. They contribute next to nothing in any case. I know Walcott scores a bunch of goals every season, but he hinders the rest of our game so much.

I do not expect either Ozil or Sanchez to remain at the club after this season, however selling either of them this late will further weaken the squad compared to the other contenders.

Exactly. For what it's worth this summer is not groundhog day, because we've slipped out of the top four. There needs to be, and there needs to be seen to be, newfound resolve and urgency or we'll slip further.

Agree the clubs attitude over the last few years has shown a lack of ambition which damages how the club is perceived in football generally. We may end up losing both players eventually but we need to dig in and hold them to their contracts whatever the perceived issues, they will be outweighed by reinforcing that lack of ambition.
