Özil has shown himself to be a rather limited player. Great addition to a dominant/well functioning attack, but doesn't do much when the team isn't playing well or when the chips are down. Add to that his lack of goals and defensive contribution and you get why he isn't as widely coveted by the big teams as is Alexis.
