Unlike suarez who was backed to the hilt during the evra racism furore, Alexis doesn't owe us anything so he isn't going to sacrifice anything for us.
The more money we get for him, the less his wages so it would be in his interest to run the contract down.
Frankly, i think this is his (and Ozil's) masterplan for what is likely to be their last big contract.

IMO, they will only consider USA when they no longer have decent options in Europe.
I think China is the place for players for whom money is the only consideration and they would still have this fall-back when they are 33 yrs old.

No, not really. I wasnt continuing the thread there, just commenting on the last big contract part.Players are retiring in the middle east, china and US these days and you're right and I've said it many times before, we're a middle of the road club with not much attraction for anyone.

This guy might not know much when it comes to transfers, that's up for debate, he is very reliable for things like this though.

I have this terrible feeling that Bayern's low balling is due to some kind of communication from Alexis team that they are his preferred choice.
Other teams like city, chelsea, madrid, psg, etc are all surprisingly lukewarm but would be offering silly money if they thought they had a chance as he is, undoubtably, world class.

They can lowball us, but surely they wouldn't be lowballing the player right? That sounds counter-intuitive. Especially to be leaking stuff like that publicly. I would definitely hang on to him this season and risk losing him on a free next summer if required. He's probably our only shot at getting back into the top 4 next season.
