IMO the article is symptomatic of our/AW's arrogance in that the expectation is that players should want to stay because of the facilities & football, whilst we fail to use them in their best roles or improve the squad, and that if they look to depart we can just throw money at the issue to make it disappear.
If you prioritise internal development ahead of utilising your best players in their best roles/positions, then you're missing the point that top players are winners with a winner's attitude, and that's why they are the top players. As Zlatan said - you have a Ferrari in your garage but drive it like a Fiat.
