cant say ive been overly impressed by mustafi when ive seen him play for germany or valencia. considering his experience, versatility, age, and price, i can still see how it would be a sensible buy

Im not overly keen, but he's a much better choice than no one or someone "experienced" like Lombaerts.

Manolas is taller, better, faster and has more experience.

The fee for Mustafi is around €25m + €8m add ons, we could get Manolas for around that fee. I do hope we go for Manolas instead.

Mustafi played LCB for Germany, if anyone knows, does he usually play there? Because if he comes he'll be playing RCB. Manolas is naturally a RCB. grr.

Dont think Roma would let Manolas go for €33m. He's quite a hot commodity. Although i agree, Manolas is by far my #1 pick. I would easily pay €40m+ for him. Maybe we dont want to alienate Roma, hoping they would pay up for Szczesny. Maybe the player is not keen still.

roma wont sell manolas this summer, or they have to give half the transfer fee to olympiakos. you'd have to cough up 50m plus to get him now, or wait until next summer when the sell on clause allegedly expires

I'm sure we could do some bent deal with Chesney going that way for little money and knock the fee down for Manolas so they don't have to cough up as much to Olympiacos.
