Hahaha, imagine still believing a word that comes out of Guillem Balague.
Shkodran Mustafi
If they are asking for £50m they can fuck right off. That's just ridiculous.
Can't blame them for trying it on. Every club in Europe knows we are desperate and they treat us accordingly. This is what happens when you have a club run by out of touch fuckwits with a nonsensical transfer "strategy".
the fact we're an english club added to the mertesacker and gabriel injuries mean every club we try to buy from will ask for a pumped up price. perhaps it wouldn't be as bad if we'd bought earlier
I'd be tempted to just leave the centreback situation as it is and lump everything we've got on an attacking player instead. Chelsea offered £60 million for James. Let's add another £10 million to that and see how Real react.
chelsea will gladly add 10 more to what we offered and will get him
Maybe, maybe not. Either way I'd be willing to find out.
would be another tough pill to swallow having 3 great supporting attacker options in ozil, james and alexis and still no striker to consistently put the ball in the back of the net.
We could make do with Giroud if we had those three, I feel, with Ramsey and Wilshere to bring extra attacking support from the midfield. It's the kind of signing that would raise our whole game.

I have a feeling he might choose to come here over Chelsea (if we matched Chelsea's bid). He's married to Ospina's sister and he saw how Chelsea treated Cuadrado.
Yep, and we're currently in Champions League while they're not. Maybe it's not the deciding factor but I bet it factors in.
Balague is hardly trustworthy. He has changed his tune multiple times in just a week.

I'd do the same yeah, a quality attacker will affect our total points more than a quality centre half will.

I would third this suggestion.
Why? We can do both. Don't believe in Wenger's lies. Mustafi is as good as ours anyway and isn't costing more than 25-30M.
Besides there's no attacker of such magnitude available. I'd happily take Bacca at this point, he's miles better than Giroud.

Lets not. If we have £70m for one player that player absolutely has to be a CF.
Seems neither us nor valencia are budging over valuation. Meanwhile we seem to be actively looking at alternatives going by reports of us linking with the likes of astori, evans etc

The price of Morata looked like madness but given the way the market is I'd chuck the money at Real.
I'm sure there is some superstar they'd rather have. And we could get 10 years out of Morata.
I still think we should have chucked it at Dortmund to get Aubameyang. I know he said Madrid or nothing, but it was worth a shot.
Who knows, we may yet chuck it at Dortmund but for Marco Reus once he returns from injury. They have Gotze back too.
Ever since the 'madness' talk broke out, I imagined it to be Reus. He just seems to fit the bill, talented player whose stock has fallen because of injury but we will see.
