Ramsey has as much injury issues as Cazorla if not more, so we can't rely on him either long term.

Ramsey has played over 40 games per season for us every year since coming back for his leg break so, yeah, I'd say he is a player we can depend on. He is also not on the wrong side of 30. (May actually be one season where he fell just short of 40 games)

He gets a major hamstring or thigh injury every season, and has been out for almost three months this season already. That isnt dependable.

Yet he has averaged just over 41 games per year for us in his last 5 seasons. Go figure.

Breaking down plain stats, he made a lot of substitute appearances coming back from injury. In terms of PL starts, in the last 5 seasons only once has he managed to start more than 25 league games. If you're going to be reliable the least you should expect from your CM is 30 league starts if not more.

And Wenger has always picked him when he is fit.

It doesnt matter if he started a game or was used as a substitute. He was still healthy enough to play in the game, so if he played a part in 40+ games, he was fit for 40+ games regardless of his starting/sub status.

A lot of his sub appearances are due to him coming back from injury and needing to get back into match fitness.

Last season he was out for two months overall, the year before that three months, and the year before that three months, and then again this season two months already. That isn't reliable and causes disruptions to the style of play.

Always thought he's a very significant part of the way we play, and I can't see a good fix for that.
Really hoping to see Xhaka start each game from now, as there's still a slim hope for steady improvement there.
And we ssso need someone to pass the ball [size=small]from deep.[/size]

With Santi injured, Elneny off to the African Cup of nations, it wasn't the brightest idea to let Wilsh go on loan for a year now was it?

Especially when you consider Cazorla's age and injury pronness, and the fact that Jack is stylistically the closest thing we have to have him.

Wenger's had a mare there.

Xhaka can make the long pass. We need someone to carry the ball from the deep. That's what Santi brought mainly that no one else can do - Coq, Xhaka, Elneny and Ramsey are all shit at dribbling and linking. They make Alexis and Özil drop too deep and then we cant to shit higher up the field because of that.

He couldn't guarantee him playing time as he had just spent £35m on Xhaka with Cazorla, Coquelin and Ramsey ahead of him in the pecking order.

On a side note, Wenger says Yaya Sanogo has a 'confidential' calf injury.
What does he mean by that?
If it is confidential, why bring it up at a press conference in a game he wasn't involved in
