JazzG Yeah but that's a squad issue, not a striker issue! I don't think Havertz is really suited for depth up front to begin with, but he has enough individuality about him to be decent I reckon - but that's provided he's even available. You don't want to end up with Merino trying to play on the shoulder though.
Basically we need someone who moves like Gyökeres because otherwise it's gonna be Madueke (or at a stretch Martinelli) up front every time we give him a breather this season. We might be able to make do until January but it's just an unnecessary risk. Look at the rest of the team: We're three proper players deep on every position aside from striker, where we have two injured midfielders as chief backup.
It's like in A New Hope where they didn't patch up that tiny ridiculous hole in the Death Star.
