USArsenal the big issue here is wear and tear. Jesus has been fragile. So you have 3 healthy forwards that will need to play all the time.
Nwaneri played some minutes at forward on Saturday, so I can see him as a 9 or a winger these next few weeks, but not covering Saka minutes. The Edu replacement has a real baptism of fire 🔥

Apparently, Arteta has attributed the Saka injury to him playing too many minutes in the last couple of seasons without rest. Wonder who was the Arsenal manager that basically played him every available minute with no rest and even brought him on in a meaningless Carabao cup game where we were already up.

Bernard Woolley he's wrong about that. I know he's wrong because when we brought it up here that maybe he was playing too many games and in competitions he shouldn't be we were told it was absolutely fine and a non-issue and we should stop saying that.

HomeSteak At least he does not need surgery, that shit can ruin a player.

Turns out he did need surgery!

We've known for a long time Saka has problems but we've kept pushing him. He has been carrying an achilles problem for a while as well which is why he limps a lot IIRC. Hopefully this extended time off now he can get on top of his issues.

White out for a few months, Odegaard out for 2 months, Saka out earlier for a few weeks and now a few months, Gabriel out a couple times for a number of games each, Calafiori out multiple times and has probably been injuried longer than he's been fit. Tomi, Zinchenko and Tierney ha, it'll be a shock seeing them fit for once, they don't even deserve a mentioned. I'm actually surprised Partey has managed to stay fit and available all season, as has Timber because if he goes down wer are seriously screwed.

With so many injuries after 2 years of hardly any you have to wonder. Are we suffering from over exertion from a number of seasons back to back competing at a high level both domestically and at international level, with our first 11-13 players playing almost every minute over that period?

Or are we on our cycling off year like Klopp's teams used to?

      Or both.
Something has got to give. As more and more players start to tire and or get injured the quality of the product on offer globally will begin to decline. The question is who draws a line in the sand? The players / clubs or the fans...

Big Willie last season we'd Timber out all year, Partey missed half the season. Plenty of other injuries too.

      Big Willie

The Callander is definitely a factor but there’s not a huge difference between us and other teams in Europe. Half our days missed are probably down to Tomi, Zinchenko and the like too.

As the Palace mins show you can also just have a really bad time with injuries regardless. It just so happens to be that this season it’s our two best players who’s load is always going to be high.

Looks like it's an ACL for Jesus. He's basically done as an Arsenal player and we've no hope of selling him. Disaster.

Yeah that is terrible news for everyone.

        Damn...

Qwiss Yeah it's curtains then. Staying fit was always his biggest problem. We need a striker now purely for the bodies. Preferably two but not getting at least one proven goalscorer in would be criminal and a total lack of ambition.

I dont think we have much choice now. With Saka, Ethan and Jesus on the sidelines, we're pretty much down to bare bones, and we will do nothing with Tross/Martinelli/Kai as our ONLY forwards.

USArsenal We'll end up paying more for players but that is what happens when are not proactive, you risk being taken to the cleaners by the market.

Have to say, he's a bit of an idiot (too emotional). If you've tweaked your knee, which it looked like he had done in the challenge with Lisandro, why are you then running 50 mph to the back of someone. Surely, you'd be more cautious.

          All heart, no brain.
