That Ganso assist made me think of this gem:

Its better for them to have a sweeper keeper than a pure shot stopper because of their play. They would rather concede goals like these than compromise their entire philosophy.

their attack would be significantly less potent with him hoofing the ball like he did against burnley.

even if you look at local talent that doesn't factor in the likes of Palace blowing 30m on Benteke.

He's looking like a very good signing at the moment.

That's not the point though.

Sporting Gijon's GK Ivan Cuellar reacts to a reporter's false accusations with a class rant. Apparently some Depor fan in front of the stadium had an epileptic seizure which made Cuellar look (at the end of the clip below) very seriously in their direction, which the journo tried to sell as him trying to rile their fans up

Love the mix of genuine hostility and courtesy to explain why the bloke is an idiot 😆

They are pitching a product against a market where most fans follow individual PL teams. Most fans would probably watch their PL team anyway and switch once it gets boring. The clash will entice the casual viewers and spill over from other live games. I like the way La Liga has suddenly woken up and wants a taste of the PL's big bucks. The other day, I read about the Spanish authorities telling clubs to make their grass greener to improve the viewing experience.

It's at the same time as Everton-United, City-Chelsea and West Ham-Arsenal.

I sure as fuck won't be watching the Clasico because of this.

Stupid move.

This goal will take some beating.

Carrasco has really stepped it up this season:

Xabi Marcelo:

Poor goalkeeping for that Carrasco goal.

another young player who improves under simeone.

Carbon copy of the goal he scored against us.

Carrasco's finishing is really good. One of the best finishers for a winger in the world. I am surprised Wenger never went for him.

Carrasco was already pretty good at Monaco, innit

Sergio Roberto getting murdered by Sevilla, fault at goal too. Yet in some corners on here you'll hear that he's better than Bellerin.

Top finish by Messi.

Can't believe he's the reason Bellerin can't get in the Spain team. 😆

N'Zonzi is having a phenomenal season. Somehow Sevilla always manage to transform average CMs into world beater there.

Just watched the 10 min highlight of sevilla vs barca...first half was full on sevilla, but boy was messi amazing. Must watch.

Must watch indeed, even the commentators were asking for the ref to add a few minutes injury time at the end of the game

Hats off to Sampaoli for adapting to Europe this quickly, only knew him as an attack-minded manager but his team's defending has been mostly pretty impressive. He played a 4-1-4-1 against Barcelona with his only DM playing at centre back and a former winger at RB and was only undone by a mistake and a Messi masterclass

TBF, Barca also have Pique, Busquets and Iniesta out, but who cares?
What a game!

Probably one of the best matches to watch this season other than the Sevilla 5-3

You mean the 6-4?

Ah yes. Although in terms of quality play yesterday match was much better. I struggle to think of a better CM pairing in europe now than Nasri and N'zonzi. 😆

Come to think of it, the last few truly quality matches in La Liga have all involved Sevilla. The 4-2 win vs Villarreal, 3-2 vs Madrid.

And they've all been at home, I'd have Sevilla at the Pizjuan as favourites against almost any opposition. Only makes sense with them being CL regulars and taking into account their absolutely abysmal away record

Monchi is incredible, around 50% of the squad sold and replaced plus a new manager with barely time to acclimatise to Europe and you could swear they've been a unit for years

Isco is bloody magnificent. Madrid derby is a real game of football, not that shite we watched at Old Toilet.

Isco had a great game, yes. Can't stand that narcissist Ronaldo, and I don't care that he is a top class player who scored a hat trick.

Ronaldo had a great game, but not sure about the class player part. He's having an absolutely terrible season so far.

Kameni with an insane performance vs Barcelona yesterday to snatch a point for Málaga at the Camp Nou. Overall quite dodgy keeper but he more often than not seems to put out these performances vs Barcelona and Real, his reflexes are unreal

He's a bit like Ochoa. Positionally all over the place but amazing shot stopping skills.

real soceidad vs barcelona - brilliant game going on

RSO take the lead. Was probably going on to the bar and pique diverted it in. Barca have run into a wall.

well, messi equalies with defenders falling in front of him

I keep forgetting to put money on Barcelona not winning every time they play Sociedad away

They haven't won at the Anoeta for like ten years. Couldn't do it in the last couple seasons when they've been shit and certainly weren't going to the way they've been playing so far this season

The lino and woodwork saved them a point.

El Clasico now!
