He had an awlful few years in england and fancied a move back home. Seems fair enough.

😆 I turned off the tv in the 87th or 88th minute when England were leading 2-0. How did they fuck that up?

Messi beats ospina with a fk from some distance. ...and then an assist as I'm typing this

Alexis playing for Chile , coming out for the second half and he is struggling. We cant play him vs United.

Goodness me , he's scored twice ! The second was brilliant

He's still not running that well though. Looks very uncomfortable.

Its bad for us , but he has got 3 vital points for Chile.

quality strikes there. the 2nd goal was a real centre forwards finish - powering down the middle, holding off the challenges, and slotting it in

now we pray for his hamstring

Campbell scores a brace to condemn USA to their worst loss since 1957. Delightful finishes.

Is he worth bringing back?

Reality check for England.

Starting to get carried away under Southgate. The subs ruined the balance.

Lol some commentary that. Overhead volley, kick save..

Get over him.

Yup, we already got Chambo.

Indeed. As much as I liked JC while he was here he wasn't that much of an upgrade over Chambo.

Even Carlitos Vela had more in his locker and I don't see guys pining for his return.

Carlitos was quality flo but apparently wasn't professional and had mental issues that Wenger wasn't happy with. Think it started that time he forgot his passport on the way to a CL game. But yeah, I'd have loved bed to have him back after his spell with Sociedad especially with the clause we had. The only reason I would have been happy with the clause being removed was if it led to buying Griezmann at the time.

If he was on loan, yes you would see that.

capitulation by West Ham. Awful stuff. Spurs are the worst.

Bilic is fucking useless.

Yeah, watching those last five minutes by West Ham made me really fucking annoyed.

That's an amazing effort 😆

Gareth Southgate has been named as permanent England manager:

What do you English blokes think about this?

I don't think this is a bad choice personally. England need someone youngish who's willing to build a team. They've tried the opposite already, and Capello didn't work, Hodgson didn't work. Appointing a dinosaur like Allardyce after those two was the worst thing they could have done.

He seems a decent choice based on the last few games. I don't know if he'll really chance much but he seems sensible in his squad selection.

Four years?

Seems like a sensible bloke so far but not that it matters, it'll end in tears like it always does.

It's been more than 50 years since we won anything so, understandably, the role has lost it's glamour.
I don't about others but nobody i know really cares that much about the England team and, even less, the manager.

Doesn't really matter at this point does it? He'd have to be a catastrophic failure to not qualify for the World Cup/Euros and the talent level in the English side has fallen so drastically in the past 5-10 years that it's unlikely even an elite manager could win a trophy. Would be nice to see to see a manager brought in that would really challenge the FA to revamp the youth system/culture in England but I suppose Southgate is at least better than retreads like Allardyce or Steve Bruce

Four years is longer than his league management career ironically.

Enzo Zidane scores 18 minutes into his first-team debut for Real Madrid:

Good genes.

I just watched the United highlights. Ibrahimovic looked stellar tonight unfortunately. Really don't like that he's getting into gear.

I'm sure his performance against an average West Ham side in the league cup quarters will make all premiership defenders shit their pants at the propect of playing against him.

Nevermind West Ham. He has scored 11 and assisted 3 now for a United side that is roughly half as good as the rest of the top sides in the country. It's practically identical to Alexis's numbers this season. If they start doing the basics right it will be bad news for us.

Too much zidane resemblance.  Body shape, running style etc. Just needs to go bald.

Was that game played in slow motion?

What nonsense is this.

It's probably not that bad an idea if it goes into a knockout phase after that. The worst thing about extending the world cup was that you were going to end up with a ridiculous number of tedious group games but this prevents that.
