Another treat from Madrid. Too dominant in that second half. Modric is the most exciting midfielder in the game. Have said this a couple of times, but he just keeps dominating class opponents. Isco, Marcelo and Kroos also impressive. And the world's best also delivered again on the biggest stage. He's the GOAT.

I do worry for UEFA though. These were arguably the two best teams, but the gap between them is ,assigned; a difference that can mainly be explained by wealth. We need to level the playing field

two deflected goals ruining the final. Football back to being boring-money team monopolizing the CL.
Btw, how about that bullshit merchant called Higuain?!

Wait, all that because of two deflected goal? I suppose if Juve got the d3flected goals the same rhetoric would have been applied? Plus they've spent a whole lot of money themselves hijacking the best players of their league rivals.

relax chief. Don't know what's 'all that'. Without them flukey goals, the teams were well matched and juve were playing good early on. You agree margins are that slim in these competitions, dont you? And once you're ahead, it gets easier to play well. of course credit to madrid for keeping it positive.
Juve aren't in the same league as madrid expenditure-wise. Nobody is.

Ronaldo ain't GOAT. prolly GGOAT, messi still GOAT.

Ronaldo >>>>> Messi

Dominated the 2 best Leagues, won the CL with 2 different teams, won an international competition and is not a drug cheat.

I don't see what's so controversial to say Zidane isn't the sole architect. Most of these players aren't his, so obviously others have brought them together.

You have to pick the right team though throughout the entire season, and he did. The previous managers didn't quite manage it and thats the difference.

I'm not ready to lavish praise on Zidane just yet. He's coaching arguably the most loaded squad in football history. Currently not even Barca has a single midfielder playing at the level that all of Kroos, Modric and Isco are playing at. Cristiano is top 3 of all time, and the bench includess men like Bale, James, Morata. The only credit I can give is that he has elevated the mid fled play to levels only seen in the Glactico era.

But it is a concern - this stockpiling of talent we see in Spain's top clubs. Juventus' squad looks more H&M to their Hermes. The less said about Premier League teams, the better

Why was Ian Rush out there looking like Willie Wonka? Rocking a Tony Adams original

RM's 1st 2 deflected goals came against the run of play.
Was reading something before the FA Cup that scoring 1st in 1 off games is crucial to being able to gain control and to maintain your tactic whilst forcing the opposition to adapt - possibly more so at the elite levels where margins are slender.
I also note that Juve had changed formations & that possibly didn't help as it hands RM a numerical advantage in midfield with both Dybala and Mandzukic in forward roles.

I've still got Modric on the mind.
Must be miserable to be a Spurs fan watching that boy stroke the ball for Madrid.

Best player Spurs have had since I've been watching football

Modric is a wonderful technician

Another Wenger could've signed before he went there.

Clearly we were scouting Dinamo a fair bit afterall as we signed Eduardo.

He did admit we were offered Modric but he thought he was too small for PL.

The way Modric imposed himself in the game, made Pjanic and Khedira look like sideman. Never been impressed by Pjanic by the way, very inconsistent player.

Pjanic did have some good moments, he's a very good player, but Modric is one of the best in the world and is streets ahead of him. Casemeiro was the worst midfielder on the pitch for me. Gave it awy5a so many times, very clumsy and unaware.

In Wengers defence that was true for his first season, took him quite a while to adapt and we had Fabregas in midfield at the time.

I do look at Modric and think given all the money and resources available to him, why can't he bulk up a bit? Not in terms of aiding his game, because he doesn't really need to, but more in terms of the way he looks. If I was living that life, I'd expect to build the body of a Greek God, not one of the inbetweeners.

Casemeiro is there to do a job and provide Kroos/Modric a platform to control the game. Benitez didn't find a place for him in the team and got sacked after losing too many matches with a lightweight midfield. He has been a revelation this season and a firm fan favourite since coming back from Porto.

He reminds me of Emerson to be honest, just a little more dirty.

Some people don't naturally bulk up very and when they go the extra mile it actually looks off, and in his case would probably take away from his game.

Yeah, I don't see why Modric should bulk up. Ronaldo did, and now he's a scoring machine, but can't dribble past anyone if his life depended on it. Bulking up doesn't suit Modric's playing style at all.

Barça fans must be feeling sick. After that run of 3 European Cups without reply from Real and then one more after 2014, Barça watch Real take it to 12 times.

Real Madrid - biggest club in the world?
