You fail to (or pretend not to) understand what "by your logic" means. Lacazette isn't in the squad because he wasn't deemed good enough, while Benzema is involved in a blackmail scandal. So "by Claudius logic", not wanting Lacazette because of that certainly doesn't mean that Benzema isn't good enough.

Deja-vu re the summer we tried to sign goal scorers.

AW reportedly declined he opportunity to sign Cavani last summer for 50m, and is rejecting the asking price for Lacazette same as he won't meet the asking prices for any of Higuain, PEA or Lewandowski.
Me thinks as much as there may be a shortage of quality lone CFs that it's just as much the case of AW still refusing to pay market values, and that the players are there and available within our financial capabilities however they are outside the parameters of AW's economics based player valuations and/or the club's financial policy/structures.

I don't watch too much footy outside of Arsenal these days. Is this guy an upgrade on Grioud? Pricetag seems a bit steep if he's not

There is the most flattering compilation I could find. He won't take us back to the days of Henry and Wrighty. Doesn't even have the invention of an Eduardo. But more mobile than Giroud. This is a signing that would need to be accompanied by a Mahrez to satisfy me

He is obviously clinical in front of goal but for 40m it might be a huge risk for us. Not that the link is even credible in the first place though.

The french Darren Bent isn't what we really need currently. We need that special striker to bring us forward.

Meh but I'd be OK with it considering the dearth of options out there as long as we get a top class goal scoring wide forward. Now that Mkhi is lost I'd take Mahrez instead with Draxler as the backup option.
