As far as I know he is a player who was eligible to play for France in the Euros. They didn't take him.

They took some shit version of Giroud who's playing his prime years out in Mexico.

Wasn't Lacazette injured towards the end of the season that ruled him out?

Alternatively it could also have something to do with squad balance & options that Dechamps may have wanted 2 CFs to play off as quasi target men rather than the smaller type of forwards?
