Gove has been suspiciously quiet. Unsure if that's because he's manoeuvring and positioning himself for leadership or whether he's had personal issues that have kept him out of the public eye.
Apparently a group of ministers including the Chief Whip is about to tell him to resign. Seems his position is completely untenable.
Graph is out of date, resignations up are up 37 now.
Gove just sacked, this is getting more ridiculous by the minute.
Never really agreed with the comparisons to Trump but today he is certainly behaving like him. In complete and utter denial and the loyalists around him are telling him what he wants to hear.
😆
Him sacking Gove is hilarious given the context. 😆
Clearly hasn’t gotten over Gove snaking him after the Brexit referendum.
He's now said he will step down in the Autumn, after recent events they may not let him stay that long.
He should never have been appointed PM in the first place. Utter lunacy

Nah it works perfectly for them. Leaves him in to take all the flack while giving themselves time to have a leadership contest.
Just resigned now
Caretaker PM. Cazorla level of press resistance.
😆 resigns and yet remains in office.
Tbf Cameron did the same - that’s the only thing that’s not unusual about this
This is superb.
As is this
Confirmed candidates for next Tory leader:
Kemi Badenoch, Suella Braverman, Jeremy Hunt, Penny Mordaunt, Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss, Tom Tugendhat and Nadhim Zahawi.
Mordaunt and Sunak seem like the favourites for the time being.
Really a feeble bunch. I don't know much about Mordaunt or Tugendhat admittedly.
Sajid Javid was probably the most established of them all surprised he didn't make it.
Sunak will make it to the final two but he's basically Blair/Cameron lite.
At least it's a diverse shortlist I guess?
