Well you never know for certain but when things are this widely reported by outlets who have a history of being the clubs mouthpieces then it's as close to 'knowing' as you're ever going to get.

I don't think Vardy delaying is that big of a deal. Players usually are allowed to take their time to make such a decision and it's only because of the Euro's that some so-called deadline has been put in place. Who cares why he's delayed, this is still early in the window. He will probably join, but if not we should be monitoring other players anyway, that's what a proper club should be doing anyway.

He's holding out for bigger wages. I bet the deadline forced big pay bump offers from us and them and he's thinking I'll let this go in a bit and see what others will offer.

Truth be told most clubs don't haggle much they make an offer straight away and if there close negotiate but your talking 5k not 20k.

Even if England got to the semis and he signed after that he wouldn't have missed any preseason with us so it doesn't really matter at all and the other teams around us in the table don't need a striker. This might actually be a good thing, maybe in the mean time Higuain flashes his leg and we can snap him up

I don't really care either way as long as we solve our CF crisis.

I know that we are scarred by Wenger's never-ending list of nearly men, from Ronaldo, to Ibrahimovich, to Trabelsi and others. However, tere is no need for the elevated level of panic on here right now. First, it is still only June and, second, there are actually numerous options out there. Let's assume that Bayern, Real, Chelsea and United will be the big teams looking for strikers this summer. We also possibly have Lukaku, Morata, Aubameyang, Benzema, Higuain, Vardy, Lewandowski, Ibrahimovic, and Costa in play. We actually need to go out of our way to not end up with a decent striker if this is our priority this summer.

LOL. Just pointing out that there are about 8-9 strikers to go around with 5-6 serious teams looking for strikers. We really need to go out of our way to end up with Giroud aain. Even you and I could a decent striker by August.

If his agent approached us as rumoured then this should have been agreed by now. We cannot afford to wait a month to negotiate a striker.

My fear is that we have no Plan B and from experience, I would suggest that is a very Real fear. Not overly bothered about Vardy either way but keen to secure a striker.

Actually Welbeck's injury and Walcott's poor form is the reason we're looking for a striker at all. Had Walcott had an above average season and Welbeck remained fit, I doubt we'd be in the market at all.
