I think some of you need to remove your Arsenal tinted glasses you are speaking more as fans than viewing it objectively.
Our club is owned and run by a regime which has shown that its main concern is profit not trophies, and the team is managed by a manager who had proved himself incapable of formatting a style and building a team to win a major trophy despite having substantially more resources than a team which just has, and is finished as a top class manager.
Now ask yourself again- Why the fuck would someone choose us?

We finished 2nd in the league, up from 4th and 3rd in prior years. We have a good core that needs only a striker (and maybe AM) to be a top team. We are in London. We can pay competitive wages. We are in the Champs League. The fans are generally supportive even under trying times. This place is still attractive

Everyone seems to be making the choice on behalf of themselves. Which is fine. But Vardy is not you, he's not from where you're from (unless you were born and raised in Sheffield). He's obviously going to have different values. If he snubs us, lets not pretend he's an unambitious retard who's lacking the noble virtue of greed.

Why's anyone assuming Vardy has chosen Leicester over us? Is there a scrap of evidence for that actually having happened?

Here's a real question: the release clause legalities. Given he's allowed to consider Leicester's counter-offer, is he also allowed to wait to hear additional release clause triggering offers from other suitors? Any time limits on that? Seems to me unless the law forces it, his best option is to keep us hanging.

You're making a whole lot of assumptions here yourself. If he picks us over Leicester it doesn't mean it's because of greed either; it could be he genuinely believes he'll achieve more here than at what is most likely a Leicester that had an extreme outlier of a season and even if he went for the money - many would without wanting to spend it on lavish horseshit.

What has Vardy done in his career that's so different from the average footballer? If anything what little we know about him (he's a chav, used to be a pisshead and went to a casino at least once in his life) I'd say money is definitely not a non-priority. And I wouldn't even blame him for that; it's not like he's going from a top team to a small one that pays him obscene wages, he'd simply take the next step in his career

Not sure about "buying the hype" - I liked London a lot during the time I've spent there. I reckon most people would prefer London to Leicester for a multitude of reasons.

Well given his only other options are Tottenham and City it's fair to say that it's not going to get any better than us.

Only evidence he's not coming is circumstantial, i.e. no decision was made yesterday. Ornstein is obviously a mouthpiece for the club and it's safe to assume that whatever he reported is what the club were expecting. Which suggests to me that either he's having second thoughts in light of the counter offer or he's trying to play us off Leicester for a better deal despite verbally agreeing one already.

Well he could wait for Real or Barca but I don't think he's going to get many better offers this summer. The only club in England better positioned than we are is maybe City and they have Aguero. I'd imagine Arsenal will put a time limit on when he needs to get his answer back to us by, though it clearly wasn't 11.30 yesterday.

Right so that's the point. It's either to win stuff, earn more or both.

If it's to win stuff and I'm Vardy, I'm going to trust a method I've seen that works, than a method I haven't seen that doesn't work (ours). Either way it's a risk. The assumption that it's written in the stars for us to win anything is just flagrant rhetoric. That Leicester will fall into obscurity is an even bigger assumption, because seeing as it's such an "anomaly", what do we really have to compare it with?

In money terms, he may or may not be greedy. From what I've seen of him and characters like him, a few extra million isn't going to have much of an impact on his decision.

I don't think London will be a pull factor for him either. If you have a list of those multitude of reasons try to match them up with Vardy, and remember he's probably a very different character to you or me.
