i have to believe if we're strengthening left back then wenger must have really gotten a wake up call with leicester winning the title. that's serious levels of ruthlessness. monreal has been good, but his form wasn't great in the new year and for wenger to say ok that's not an aberration i'm bringing in genuine competition is interesting to say the least. i'm expecting big signings at CB and striker was well now, even another CM would be good.

It's not a wake up call at all, it's typical Wenger, when it comes to full backs he does his job. A wake up call would be if he got a CF and CB. That would be ruthless.

Nope but unlike "statuses" of player availabilities the financial statements of Arsenal are available for all to see.

Monreal's form in the new year is exaggerated. He had a couple of average games but was still one of our better and most consistent performers.

I have never been impressed with Rodriguez defensively because he lack recovery pace but offensively he is one of the best in Europe. He is like a superior Baines.

Would be typical AW to get his priorities ass about face & sign an offensive defender who requires more cover in defence.

Yeah, I just find it hard to believe we'd splash out 20m for a left back. I wouldn't be unhappy by any means, but it's probably one of the last areas of the pitch after the goalkeeping position that I'd have pegged down for strengthening.

If true I hope there's enough funds knocking about for signings in areas that needs them more urgently.
