Liverpool will never willingly sell Sterling to a rival as he has consistently been their most highly rated player at every stage of his development. He is not there yet but, if he continues improving at this rate, he will become a top player.
Ox may have a higher ceiling as he is physically bigger but, currently, the scouse lad has superior ball control and, more importantly, balance as showcased in the last match where bigger players couldn't knock him off the ball. He also has the luck of not picking up injuries in his developmental years.

Sterling's a good little player, but he's nothing that special. Neither is Chamberlain currently, but you feel he has a lot more in him that for whatever reason is struggling to come out.

Sterling has far more agility than Chamberlain, and he's slightly more skilful. Think he will be a better player on the flanks overall. Ox has power, though, so we'll see how far that takes him.

Sterling is actually producing game in, game out at Liverpool while Ox is still showing just glimpses of potential here and there. Sterling > Ox, by a big margin right now.

Only thing Sterling has over Ox is that he's playing week in week out for his club injury free, which I guess is pretty significant. But some of Ox's performances have been equally explosive and against opposition like Bayern.

My main worry for Ox is that if he's not getting in the side now with Theo out injured then he's not going to get that extended run in the team.

Alot of times Ox's game is a little out of control and heavy touches all round, while Sterling have more poise and composure in his game, with better intelligence, dribbling for now imo. I rate Ox's technique higher though, he have a better shot in him.

You have to remember Sterling is 2 years younger, very impressive.

Two years younger and a lot better. I love the Ox, but he'll have to work really hard and be lucky with injuries if he's going to to become better than Sterling.

Sterling really isn't as great as some of you seem to think. His stats last season were average. All this hype seems to have come from being the only semi decent player for England in the world cup. Which isn't saying much.

Just watch him.

Of course you shouldnt believe the hype. Its coming from deluded scousers and pro-scouse media mainly. He isnt anywhere near to top, top level and im not sure he will ever be, but he is performing on a very good level right now in every game.

Guys, Sterling is 19 years old...

Don't think he has the professionalism to sustain a 15y career but otherwise looks a top player. He'll probably peak in his early 20's, that's the worst thing i can say about him.

How many times have we seen a 19 year old wide player score 9 goals in the PL? Don't think even Ronaldo managed it.

Sterling vs Ox is a non contest at the moment and I personally think Sterling is the more talented player; better touch touch, ball control, agility, dribbling skills and he's got much more goals in him. Although Sterling is very good defensively (I have even seen him excel at fullback), he's got good forward instincts, he does make Theo like runs in behind. His goals last season were no fluke, he's already got 2 in 3 so far and I expect him to hit double figures this season.

I'd say he's already Liverpool's best player. Good news is, they won't be able to keep him for long, 2-3 years max and he'll be a Barca or Madrid player IMO (probably for record fees though).

He isn't Scouse thankfully. Will leave them as soon as one of the elite European clubs (including English based, particularly London) come calling. Fantastic player.

In reply to Tactics, fair enough for his age his stats last year are slightly more impressive but your post is exactly the kind of overrating of sterling I don't agree with. He's never going to be a player that the likes of Barca/Madrid will be after. Guaranteed. Only possible way is if English media continue to overhype him and he seals a transfer based on that. Have to agree with Klaus, the Ox will end up the better player if he gets his chances.

I'm honestly not too sure on this one.

As far as I recall Oxlade-Chamberlain has never, ever had a run of around ten matches in the Arsenal first team uninterrupted by selection or injury issues. When and if he does this might start to be an apples to apples comparison.

Sterling is a quality player. He's been very dangerous every time I've watched him—and you could say the same of Ox, but the big difference is that Sterling has had the talent or the luck to convert his opportunities. I don't know if he'd be the type to flourish in La Liga, but he'll cause Liverpool transfer saga headaches in a couple of years. He's a much more well-rounded and creative player than other overhyped young English wingers over the years, your Aaron Lennons etc.

This argument would be running differently if a couple of Ox's near misses in the last six months had gone in.

Sterling vs Chamberlain isn't even a competition right now. Sterling got more goals and assists last year than Chamberlain has had his whole career with us (haven't actually checked, just going from memory), which granted, is only 2/3 years.

I can't think of anything that Chamberlain has over Sterling. Shooting from range maybe.

Sterling's passing looks quite weak, most of the time he gets free, then messes up the pass. Other than that he is good at most things.

Sterling is brilliant, explosive and electric. So,dangerous on the ball.
