Lugano/Yobo/Yepes can be the new Squillaci/Silvestre. Wenger is not the most ruthless at replacing players and I'd rather we bought someone who can compete with Mertesacker either now or in a year or two than to be stuck with these freebies.
If Chambers performs as a centre-back, I can easily see Wenger not buying anyone and promoting Bellerin or bringing back Jenkinson (next year) as the back-up right back. Unfortunately, that would leave us with the need to purchase a lot of defenders once Mertesacker, Koscielny, Debuchy and Monreal find themselves at the wrong side of thirty.
