No joke - Paris is genuinely miles ahead of London. Especially post brexit
Really? Just been to both Cities recently. As a neutral tourist I very much prefers London. More things to do, cleaner and amenities more modern. Most importantly the food is nicer in London for me.
Having lived in both I much prefer Paris
Architecturally Paris is gorgeous, I also like the fact it's geographically smaller as well - if you live in the centre you can walk everywhere. I very rarely take the metro for example. In London you're constantly in the tube, the city is massive - and meeting friends is always a logistical nightmare when you're split out across west/north/east.
Better nightlife I think as well - really fun place to go out. Better weekend trips in close proximity (beach 2h away, skiing 3h away, plenty of other French and European cities easily accessible by train, etc,).
In terms of food I think Paris is overall better as well, particularly at the mid range level which is what really matters - nobody does michelin restaurants all the time.
Cleanliness is a fair point point, as well as the amount of homeless.
London previously had work and salaries in its favour - but so many banks have a proper presence in Paris now and if you move from London (and negotiate properly) you keep your London salary and get a 30% tax break for 5 years, it's a no brainer. People who haven't worked in London do get paid significantly less though, that's still a thing if you don't have that initial base to negotiate from.
