The problem with this is it doesn't meet the idea of being fit for purpose and able to hit the ground running so as to be able to push for top4.
That said I do agree the likes of Maddison does provide a potential block to ESR's game time and development, whereas someone like Coutinho's age would not to the same degree.
As for playing Martinelli on the left it depends on who you are playing on the right, as I think Saka and Pepe are currently our best starting options on the flanks,
but I also think both Saka and ESR could play in midfield as #8/10 in a 433.
