That's cool. Meanwhile, in the real world, players tend to cost money and that's why we need to think about if we should back a young top class talent already at the club rather than go out and buy yet another one. It's less about clearing the path and more about having some sense.

I have to say I don't get the clamour for a centre forward either. It's not even a matter of priority, I wouldn't sign one regardless unless we actually had a chance to sign Mbappe.

Martinelli and Balogun may not be Mbappe level talents but then neither are the ones we're likely to sign.

Agree about not signing a striker, mostly because of more pressing needs, but I don't think Balogun and Martinelli should be grouped together.

I agree. No way we can sell Laca and get no one to replace him. As you say Martinelli is a winger, he could be a great goal scoring winger but when he plays as the striker he gets less chances, keep him wide, we need more than one goal scorer in the team anyway.

In terms of backing a player I think if we want to back Marti we let him compete for his place on the wing right now against Pepe, ESR, etc Thats a nice level of competition.

Also if we don't sign a striker now it becomes a huge issue next summer. So why wait? I'd rather sell Laca and get a striker than sign another AM TBH because if need be Auba can fill in on the wing.

Nope - not as yet as he's not part of the English football system. However as he's just turned 18 he doesn't need to be registered as he's u21, and can qualify as HG when he reaches 21.

As things stand Laca is the better fit as a lone CF but IMO neither are ideal, and we'd need to change our play (in both transition through the middle 3rd and also in the Final 3rd), if we wanted to get the best from either of them.

We sold Matt Macey too them as well. Makes a lot of sense. Wonder what sort of fee we’d be looking at.

IMO Edouard or Dembele are more likely, and cheaper.

Some houseboat links to Kaio from Santos. Supposedly one of the top talents in the Brazilian league. I am always suspect of talents from Brazil but we seem to be making more of an effort in South America these days.

We need a big man to get on crosses but who can play too. I wouldn't say no to Lukaku. Though he might be a bit old.
