Can't imagine he'd come here anyway. What young striker with that profile would want to play in a team that creates so little and are so far away from titles? Not even in the CL or EL and only a maybe for the EL conference. These very high profile players are out of reach.

I’m with Klaus. We have to back Martinelli. If and only if we have decided he can handle the rigors of a full premier league season, and his injury issues are behind him. We also have Balogun waiting in the wings. We’ve wasted the dosh or possible budget we had in the striker department on a semi-retired Aubameyang. One day we’ll stop letting players hold us to ransom over a good season when we know they’ll be in decline shortly.
I really don't understand or like this idea of "backing" players. Clearing paths for them is not how you win more football matches.
We haven't cleared a path for anyone. Aubameyang will still play most of our games for another season or two and I reckon whoever thinks otherwise are kidding themselves. What's the point in signing another young striker beyond that though when you have Martinelli? Is that a proper way to use whatever funds we have when we have no rightbacks and only one central midfielder? Does that make us win more football matches? Some common sense need to be applied here.
Auba is not looking good and Marty is more of a a winger. He and Balogun are young and it's not like either are Mbappe level talents. If we sell Laca we should buy a striker.
Well I disagree. I think we struggle to create chances, not to finish them. We're going to be in for another shit season if we don't start to focus more on the former.
