Ceballos and Cisse would be good affordable additions. Haven't seen the latter but he was linked to some Bundesliga clubs last winter and the resonance was very positive, despite his frame he's quite quick apparently.

Would be a handy signing to bolster an midfield horribly lacking in dynamism and creativity

Most reports I have seen say that it won't and that the player wants to go back to Madrid in a year.

I really don't like deals like this. If we're gonna spend a year developing a player for Real Madrid I want him to be a lot more certain to put in a great season in England than Ceballos is. Otherwise we might as well sign someone unfinished ourselves and give him a vital year of experience.

Oh right, I only read one reprot based on the AS story today which suggested we'd have a option to buy, maybe they've translated it incorrectly.

I sort of agree with Klaus in that case.

Regarding Ceballos:

This was AS, yesterday on the 15th.

#thfc are close to signing Dani Ceballos after they agreed to the conditions of a season-long loan. Mauricio Pochettino has convinced the Real Madrid midfielder to join by promising he would have a meaningful role at the club. [AS]

This is AS Today:

'Dani Ceballos is very close to leaving for Arsenal. He is one step away..'

And Marca(who is very close to Real) said this yesterday- on the 15th.:

Real Madrid are set to keep Arsenal and Tottenham target, Dani Ceballos as they have come to the conclusion that they can't find better players than Ceballos at a reasonable price. [JoséFélixDíaz - @marca]

on the other side of the coin, he might come here, thrive in our team and really love london and then maybe he'll doubt whether hes in madrid's long term plans and he'll want to stay and he'll push to make the move permanent.

Given our financial bullshit, I think a sensible approach would be to go get two loans with an option to buy from Spain - Ceballos for midfield and Malcom for wing. And then I would complete Tierney.

Then a bit controversial, I would kill the Saliba deal and go after someone like Upamecano, Ndicka or Diallo who might be able to come immediately.

That gives us time to deal with the 4 musketeers as well

This summer, I'd prioritize bodies who can deliver. So Ceballos on loan (even without an option to buy) is valuable to me simply because it's a body in a place where it is required. Hopefully that moves us into the CL this year and we can focus on a permanent solution next year. Completely appreciate Klaus' point around developing a player for RM, but for this year, I'd take that even if not optimal.
