Not that I disagree about the market seemingly soaring beyond all rationality, but ultimately a player is worth what other clubs are willing to pay. And there are a lot of rich clubs.
Arsenal seem to be trying to find value in young players before they've caught the attention of those rich clubs. I'm behind the strategy, for sure.
If we could end this summer with Schubert, Saliba, Tierney and Szoboszlai signed up for considerably less than Mustafi and Xhaka cost between them, even in said inflated market, then we're doing something right versus what we were doing 3 years ago. If we could nab an undervalued player or two in the mid-twenties age bracket to improve the team from the get-go, alongside that young talent, then things would be really looking up.
