I think if we manage to move Xhaka, Elneny and Mustafi (and maybe Lacazette if the offer is good) we could pull off 4-5 good starting quality players, but it's a real stretch otherwise. We'd have to go for unproven youth.
Biggest danger is if we waste money on players just because they're going for a cutrate, and then we're stuck with them for years. We really can't afford to bloat the squad with middle of the road talent again. Those are the very same guys we struggle to get rid of right now. They'll also block the path for the academy players and at least a few of them have a chance to turn into genuine quality if they're allowed to progress. Thinking of Nelson and Smith-Rowe chiefly with Nketiah, Saka and Willock as outside bets.
