It's a no from me on Dembele. If he doesn't develop into a world class player it will cripple us for years. It'd be hugely irresponsible.

Isn't any expensive player signing for us and not working out going to financially cripple us? More so if it's an experienced player possibly demanding more wages and a lesser sell-on value later on.

Absolutely. There's a time and a place for big money signings and this isn't really it. Hell even if he does work out we'd still have a half baked squad not capable of winning anything.

Dembele is clearly talented, but too inconsistent. Sloppy close control and decision making at times as well. No way I'd want us to spend most of our transfer budget on him.

I'd spend all of it and then some on him. He's 21 if anything this is the time you'd want to get him when he starts to iron out his flaws

I’m with jones. It’d be risky, but worth it if we can swing it for a good price. He is insanely talented. Only question for me is his fitness. If he can get over that and get going in a team where every other player isn’t trying to pass to Messi, he’ll shine again. And if and when he does fulfill his potential, he’ll have enormous resale value.

For me CL qualification is key.

Who says we have to pay Barca straight away? Why not loan with option to buy?

First of all we need a CB, then CM and wingers, but if we can swing it, it would be ideal.

I still think that £40 mil budget is a smokescreen

Structuring payments is a cash flow issue, it doesn’t solve the accounts issue. Companies generally budget on the latter.

It depends what you want. In my opinion, Pepe is the best finisher of the three Dembele the best dribbler, Sane is a mix of both.

The latter two are perhaps the bigger talents, but because of the ice in his veins in front of goal and the timing and intelligence of his runs, out of the three, I'd take Pepe at Arsenal.

You would have sanctioned Mustafi, so you definitely would. 😆

Anyway, I would take Dembele at the club without hesitation, but only after signing a new CB.
