Think I read something that Emery used him as CAM in his 4231 at Sevilla,
which could mean that Rambo and Ozil are possible departures.
It also then means that we will likely see a new purpose built spine with only Xhaka and PEA remaining = Leno, Sokratis, Xhaka, Banega & PEA.
In terms of ages and profiles of our reported transfer targets, I'm still of the opinion that our strategy is to build a match day squad capable of regaining top4/CL and to provide role models for the youngsters including the likes of Bellerin and Iwobi as well as that of Nelson, Willock and AM-N & Co.
IMO this rebuild is all about regaining CL and laying the foundations for the nextgen. This is why we are seeing so many links in terms of experience, familiarity with Emery's style of play (both under Emery or in a similar set up such as BVB), and players who have played together previously.
It would appear that we are trying to fast track the usual periods of adaptation by building a match day core who have essentially been there & done that. Not sure I can recall something similar being done previously involving a new manager & playing style. If I'm right then it's pretty ballsy as what looks to be a pre-determined roll of the dice for 2-3 seasons.
I don't think we'll see anyone bought for over 30m unless we are also in the process of selling players, but I wouldn't be surprised if we did see an attempt to make a statement signing such as a loan to buy deal for someone like Dembele = more so if we are to sell Rambo and/or Ozil.
