Might be a case of the press putting 2 and 2 together here, but could be something in it.

Still only 24 years old--I've seen him make some ridiculous saves on the few occasions I have seen him play, but I couldn't say whether he's got the sort of ability an Arsenal Number 1 should have.

well, id rather play just about anyone on this forum in goal over cech, so im sure he'll be a big upgrade

I wouldn't be against a signing like this--he's a good player, even if he's slowed down a bit in the last couple of years. If I was deciding the plan, I'd be much more concerned with getting in the best talent I could into the club, spending my money there, and worry about filling the squad after that. It's not hard to find a serviceable right back to offer a bit of competition next season--it could be done at the end of the window without too much difficulty.

Barcelona are reportedly shopping Dembele around atm, I'd be moving heaven and earth to try and make that happen--even if it was only a remote possibility and if it took the majority of the budget to do it.

Yep if there’s ever a time to get a marquee signing in it’s now.

Everytime I seen him he is dodgy. He isn't even that good a shot stopper to ignore his other deficiencies in keeping.

We should just get Butland from Stoke. I bet he has a relegation clause; most of them do. Maybe he's not a long-term answer but he's definitely one of the 6-7 best keepers in the league. Strong improvement on both Cech and Ospina who are in the bottom 5.

If I'm a young CB and A Madrid want to sign me I'd 100% go there or to a defensive team like Chelsea.

If I'm a young attacking midfielder I'd pick arsenal over those clubs.

GFFN claiming that we are not making the move for Diallo as we are waiting to finalize Sokratis (implying that he is our first priority). Must say very few credible noises about our transfer movements - hope that reflects secrecy rather than inactivity / being infructuous.

I think we seen with the Arteta rumours and Emery appointment that the press imagine a lot more than they know.

After the last week I'm amazed anyone pays the slightest bit of attention to the press.

At this stage I wouldn't be surprised if arsenal deliberately leaked misinformation.

I want more pace in the back line, so for me Diallo would be preferable, but if we are going to land both than I will not complain.

I want to know what is going on with Meyer, and also who will be our new keeper?

Will Emery get a lot out of Kolasinac, and AMN? Do we need a new left back?

For me it's not that I trust the press, it's just that I trust them more than nothing. So when I hear that we might not prioritize Diallo I still get nervous.

Nobody knows what goes on though. Maybe Diallo was contacted and said no way. Maybe he's had contact with richer clubs who are doing better right now.
