Get French Football News has learnt that contact was first made by the London club for the player at the beginning of this season, and that Mislintat has been a keen admirer of Diallo since his AS Monaco reserve days.

Depending on Unai Emery’s wishes, it is highly probable that Arsenal make a concrete move for the player in the coming weeks.

I might just go and watch him on youtube.

I wouldn't be against a signing like this--he's a good player, even if he's slowed down a bit in the last couple of years. If I was deciding the plan, I'd be much more concerned with getting in the best talent I could into the club, spending my money there, and worry about filling the squad after that. It's not hard to find a serviceable right back to offer a bit of competition next season--it could be done at the end of the window without too much difficulty.

Barcelona are reportedly shopping Dembele around atm, I'd be moving heaven and earth to try and make that happen--even if it was only a remote possibility and if it took the majority of the budget to do it.

I don't think it's all that logical to have such an expensive backup (salary wise). We're better off being economical and leaving it to Chambers/AMN to serve as backups until we can find another kid to push Bellerin.

I think Dembele is massively overrated to be honest. I couldn't believe Barcelona spent so much on someone who looks so raw, Mbappe was always on a different planet. Unless they're willing to write off 60m then I wouldn't be all that keen. Hell I'd take Martial over him.

Good player, but lacking in pace.

Agreed on Dembele, Arsenal should move heaven and earth to land him if he is available. Genuine class, a front three of him, Lacazette and Aubameyang would be incredible. Probably the best we have had since the glory years.

Dembele, Meyer (on a free), Diallo, Leno and somehow a DM and I would be thrilled.

I was saying that last summer when people were talking about him like he was in the top echelon of attackers. He's incredibly wasteful and inefficient, but he's also genuinely brilliant. He could be whatever he wants to be if he's prepared to work.

That's because he is, just because goon says otherwise doesn't make it true. He's the same age as Maitland-Niles, as two-footed as Cazorla, faster than Theo in his prime, has the assisting mindset and vision of Özil (lacks consistency in pulling it off still though) and actually knows how to score. He's just spent five months out injured, he'll have a stormer next season and I'll bring this post back up pulling goon's ugly pants down.

He has brilliant qualities, even if you're being hyperbolic in your comparisons. He definitely still has some way to go though. He can go from the sublime to the ridiculous frequently during games. From taking your breath away to leaving you scratching your head. He also needs to work hard on his finishing because that is a part of his game that doesn't really range in quality like the rest of his attacking game--it's plain average at this point.

I'm not saying the kid can't be very good, hence why I'd consider blowing 40-50m on him, and even that would represent a big gamble. There's plenty of flaws to his game, decision making being one of the main aspects that I find pretty annoying, even for a 20yr old. I'm not as convinced by his potential development trajectory as others and, so far, I've been spot on (as usual) given his season to forget with Barca.
