We had a public bid in above the contractual buy in clause. Suarez and his agents knew about the clause in the contract. They could have kicked up a fuss anytime they wanted. But, he probably got assurances that they'd let him go to the Spanish giants next year and settled for another year at Merseyside.

It just might be. Fits with the description of "needing to be loved" more than Benzema. Also, Cavani has been quite polarizing recently, so he also fits in with the "some people might think he's not that good" jibe from Muzzi.

Yeah he did. He spoke in an interview that Liverpool should just let him join Arsenal because it wasn't even a local rival. He was disappointed that Liverpool broke their promise or something and have submitted a transfer request.

Not true, he's only had one long term injury - last season - in his entire career.

I know, I think that was his knee ligament. However, He did pick up quite a few knocks and niggles after that. I remember reading somewhere that he'd had 4 injuries in 5 months or something like that sometime last season.

Has everyone come to the realisation that we won't be signing anyone else this summer or if we do it will be on the last day or thereabouts?

Hopefully with new season fast approaching the football will distract us and we don't have to worry anymore about this smelly transfer window.

Llorente would be worse, I guess. At least, Draxler has an exciting unknown upside.

Why do I get the feeling that we aren't really pursuing anyone at the moment? It so quiet and all the talk from Wenger and co makes it seems like we're just sitting around waiting for something to fall into our lap.

At this stage I'd be shocked if we made 2 first team signings before the window closes.
