He's one of a kind as a player, great physique and a terrific shot on him but his set of skills is a bit imbalanced so far, he still seems to grow into his body too. Could turn into a world beater or could go down as a never-has-been which isn't too unlikely given the unreal rate Schalke's academy produce top talents, he's younger than Oxlade-Chamberlain and already has two youngsters in Meyer and Sané (two and three years younger) threatening his position in the team.

Bill Julian spent three years at the Manor Ground and made two appearances after making his first-class debut in an FA Cup qualifier against Lyndhurst in October of that year. He never made a league appearance and transferred to Luton Town in summer 1892.

I think Wenger would be able to do for Draxler what he did for Pires. They're not very similar as players but I think the general idea is the same. Everyone kept saying that Pires was a central playmaker, and he became one of the finest left wingers in the game instead. I could see a similar development for Draxler at Arsenal if he gets to stay fit for a while.

id be happy to sign him for £20m. he has a world of potential. if he doesn't develop in 2 years, you can sell him back to a club in germany for £10-15m at worst.

if he has a monster season in 2015/16, his value goes up again. if we're not going to shop in the very top bracket, we should be trying to sign players in that next bracket, and also players in the "could be awesome' bracket. those players still go for decent money.

I'm not sure on Draxler, get the feeling if we signed him we'd have to endure 5 or 6 seasons of injuries and flashes of brilliance before he really turns it on.

We've got Ox, Jack and perhaps Gnabry for the wide positions who are all fall into the 'good and potentially very good/world class' bracket. If we're going to sign someone in the wide forward positions this summer it needs to be someone who's class is already established.

Gnabry's not going to make it here. He's not in the same talent bracket as the others and he's just as injury prone. I'd sell him immediately if it came down to it rather than spending time on developing a squad player. Draxler would be worth it on pure talent.

I don't think we should be signing potential that has such injury concerns. We've got Ox for that.

I like Draxler and agree with the general sentiment about his potential. I am very much in the Qwiss camp on this one though; we need a Reus much more than we need a Draxler. IMO we already have too many players that are still in their development phase in the first team squad and not enough players who are at the peak of their powers.

Yeah I think Draxler and Reus have similar injury issues, would cost similar but one is potential and one is where you'd hope the potential would end up. I also think we need a genuine goal scorer added and Draxler doesn't offer that.

Qs, no way they cost similar. I'd say we should be paying at most early 20s for Drax, while I'd be comfortable with a late 30s bid for Reus

I'm surprised Bayern aren't making a play for him. Get him in now and develop him ready to replace ribery in a couple of years

Bayern do have a habit of stockpiling all the bet German talents. Problem is after the way they treated Goetze a young German who still has everything to prove might not want to risk wasting a lot of time sitting on the bench when he could have been playing regularly and developing somewhere else. At least if the guy is being managed properly.

Granted they'll pay more and be more likely to win trophies but if you can't force your way into the team you waste key developmental years by riding the bench.
