i think anyone who watched our performances the 2nd half of the season can tell you what coquelin brought to the team, without even looking at his stats.
since i doubt anyone here watched kondogbia play 20 league games this year. Comparing their statistics, taken from the same website, calculated the same way, is more efficient and informative than just guessing or going off one or two games.
It's informative, yes, but not really much more than that.
As I said, they don't play the same role, nor do their teams play the same way, that's where all comparisons between the two should end.
Coq tackles and interceps, that's literally all he does. Kondogbia does more much, obviously as he has a different role, takes more shots, dribbles more, has more key passes, and more passes in general etc.
Your choice of stats is therefore very selective, and favourable towards the DM role, no wonder Coq comes out on top as the "better" player.
You could easily make someone like Cattermole look better than Busquest by using selective stats. On the whole I don't think it is possible to tell who's the better player at all by just looking at stats. Is a player better than another just because te has more interceptions and tackles? No, I don't believe so personally.
