Felt the same when I watched the pilot. By episode 7, I liked it, and about halfway through was hooked. Mind you, the newest eps of S2 haven't been the best, they're trying to be a bit too clever with the in-jokes and obscure film references

still catching up on season 3 of Breaking Bad.. (about half way through S3).. good show

anyone watch a new show called Breakout Kings? (did I ask this before?).. decent show.. task force hires cons to catch escaped cons.. decent enough show.. also watched the first episode of Body of Proof (Dana Delaney).. she seems like a female version of House, only with a bit more feelings and better looking.. also was a decent watch..

Watched all seasons of the Wire in just a few weeks. Wonderful show, and many thanks you guys for recommending it. The Shield is next!

Tie Wire.. ahh.. what I wouldnt give to be watching that for the first time again.. Rex - the Shield is also a great show.. not quite as good as The Wire, but definitely a great watch from Season 1 to Season 7

Thanks US. Seems opinions are divided on just how good the Shield is compared to the Wire. Klaus reckons it is better IIRC, but most seem to agree with you US that it is a notch below the standard of the Wire. Look forward to seeing it nonetheless!

The wife gave up on the Wire after the first episode. In retrospect I´m sort of glad she did, or it would have been a very drawn out affair in the end no doubt...

Finally gave Curb Your Enthusiasm a watch thanks to Sky anytime + (which is fantastic) and I have to say it's brilliant.

Any other comedy I'm missing out on? Used to love Friends and Scrubs, Modern Family is the only thing I like these days.

The Thick of It is the funniest show going around, even though it's over I'd seek it out.

Anyone gonna watch The Killing? It premieres on AMC tonight. It looks very promising. Will be interesting to see whether it's anything like Twin Peaks.

mine almost did the same thing.. she was not interested after the first episode.. luckily, i convinced her to give it another shot so she watched the second episode and she started to like it at that point, then got better from there on out... now she considers it one of her favorite series of all time

The Wire has some of the best lines i can remember in a show over its 5 seasons...

Always Sunny in Philedlphia is great. Parks and Recreations too.
