Been catching up with series 4 of Californication.

Hank just shagged McNulty's ex. Who happens to be the mother of a teen film star, "America's sweetheart" if you will, who Hank has also shagged. Quite funny when he got caught out.

Finally got around to watching season 5 of Mad Men. The writing has been far better this season in my opinion. Up to about halfway through and I'm really liking it.

The fatsuit Betty thing isn't working too well though.

Have to say I'm bored of Mad Men. I can appreciate it but it just doesn't have any sort of impact on me. Almost watching it because I know it's supposed to be good.

I know what you mean. I've done my fair share of hating with respect to this show. It does get a bit flatulent at times.

Just had episode six anyway. Roger and Jane's LSD trip, Peggy's Heinz debacle and dodgy theatre outing, and the chronological cut-up of Don and Megan's Howard Parks misadventure in this episode were extremely good TV.

The fat suit is terrible. The season was brilliant though. And you've still half a season to go.

And you're just about to watch ep 7 which is probably the most memorable episode of the season for me.

Whoa, latest Boardwalk Empire was pretty interesting. Gyp 😆 That face off scene was intense. Two mad nuts going at it.

Oh yeah, and, less of Billie and Margaret please. If they need a female character getting loads of screen time let it be Gillian, although they'd have to actually give her a proper storyline.

I like Margaret this year.

They've gone too far with Gyp, he's a fucking cartoon now. The Joe Pesci stuff was threading a fine line and the scene with the paper boy was just too much.

They should just kill off everyone in Atlantic City and set it in NY, Rothstein and Capone are the best things in it. Maybe Eoin and Richard could escape and go work together in NY.

I love the balls on Homeland this season. Love it. I really thought it was another Showtime production down the drain, the way last season ended.

By far my favourite show this year. Surprised by how fast it has moved as I really didn't expect Brody to be exposed taken into custody by the CIA so quickly. Apparently Lewis has signed on for 5 more years but how much longer can they drag out the Brody story now? I geuss they are now going to try and turn him into a double agent for the CIA.

Bloody hell, just watched the first episode of Last Resort. Sadly I can't see the coming episodes being as epic but great stuff so far.

you're not wrong. it's been hit and miss since the pilot. apart from a handful of characters, the acting is a bit low rent as well. i cringe every time the show focuses on that aussie/asian bartender.

Problem is the shock factor is gone after the pilot, and it's obviously going to turn in to your typical conspiracy show. There just isn't anywhere for it to go. I still expect it to keep my attention though.

I didn't think the pilot was that great. It's a pretty decent show but it feels like a typical television production in so many ways. I'm glad that Shawn Ryan's doing well though. Maybe he's got another Terriers in him after this.

Well he's not doing that well. Considering the ratings the shows probably going to be cancelled. Which is a shame because its pretty good for that sort of show.

I'm absolutely shocked that Revolution is a sort of hit and Last Resort has done so badly. I guess advertising and time slot trump quality.

I can't stand Revolution either. It reminds me of all the worst parts of Jericho (inconsistent acting, contrived dialogue, artificial feel in makeup and aesthetics) but without the good parts to bring some balance. The weird thing is that it's not really ranking that high on most websites either. People seem to agree that it's a fairly mediocre show but they watch it anyway.
