Watched the first ep of Game of Thrones last night. Couldn't stop smirking - it's very silly, and dodgy. Reminds me how silly the books are. Should be stacks of fun though, I reckon I will have mainlined it by Monday.

Burns, where did you get that first episode. I have all but that episode on my DVR, and that's been stopping me from getting started. That and 80 hour work weeks :-)

The aliens look shit, but I suppose its TNT so fuck all budget. Thought it was decent enough though. Good enough to be watching during the summer anyway, and better than V.

Lol. I downloaded the first 8 episodes, got my internet suspended for the weekend, as well as threats of legal action against me. Decided it's not going to be worth it- got the books now though.

Really? Where do you live? West coast of the US isn't it? Where'd you download it from?

I'm pretty blasé about piracy, hope it never comes back to bite me. I sort of assume they only ever make examples of the crazier content thieves, or those who redistribute vast quantities of stuff themselves.

Yeah, been doing it for years and not even had my speed capped or anything. Then again I only do it with TV shows.

I live in Sydney and have about 30 infringement notices from cable networks like Starz and Showtime for dling the likes of Californication, Dexter, and Spartacus. My ISP is legally obligated to forward infringement notices on to me, but that's as far as they can go. Cutting or capping my usage opens an unwanted legal can of worms for ISPs.

Besides, they're the ones offering dirt cheap unlimited data plans - what the feck else are we going to use all that for except piracy?

Finished watching GoT season one last night. So far the series is very faithful to Martin's books, which is unsurprising given that major changes now would have to have lots of later repercussions.

I'm sure the end of ep 9 must've thrown one or two people 😃

The casting in the show's mostly very good. About the only major misstep is Loras who's a bit slight and emo-ish for a guy who's supposed to be one of the top knights knocking around.

I was a bit surprised by the sheer prurience (rather than the frequency) of the sex and nudity, it's all a bit phwoar, nudge nudge wink wink for my taste as opposed to actually erotic, but that's pretty much what's in the books I guess.

Looking forward to season two.

Aye. South West US. New Mexico. I download my movies using a software called vuze, and I can't remember exactly where the torrents are from. Used to use limewire until they got busted.

I use an ISP called Qwest. They have never given me any problems of this sort prior to this occasion - I previously have downloaded a shitload of movies and shows without any repercussions, however I believe they might in some way be affiliated with HBO, or perhaps because the GoT is still a recent/ongoing series, is why they are being so strict about it now. Why I say this is because I got my neighbour into the same trouble by downloading GoT on his connection whilst mine was down.

Whatever the case, I'm off the 'entry level piracy' business for now. At least until I can find a safer way to go about it, or get to know precisely which material can get me in trouble, and which won't.

Two episodes left of the Shield. Makes me sort of sad knowing it all ends tomorrow. Me and my better half has had a great month and a half going through the seven seasons. Quality show.

Was both depressing, sad, and a sense of some sort of justice all mixed into one that ending. Great show, but I still liked the Wire more. Feel a little empty that it´s over!
