You could easily survive watching Fargo the series without seeing Fargo the movie, but people I know who've seen the movie tend to like the series much more than the people who aren't familiar with the original. The style and spirit of the two is very similar so that might make the beginning of the show more familiar and palatable

I love Silicon Valley too but I've not noticed that. I do enjoy the mocking of Ayn Rand obsessed libertarians though. Peter Gregory is a blatant piss take of Peter Thiel.

Must start the 2nd seasons of Vikings and Hannibal soon. In the middle of The Wire season 2 at the mo.

Whenever it strays a bit deeper into religious mysticism I find it enthralling. I'd love to see it go full Weird Viking. At the moment it just feels like a decent substitute for Sons of Anarchy.

Just finished season 2, Qs. Ended a bit abruptly, but the whole Tyra/Landry arc was still pretty good. Tami goes from at home mum for 15 years to become principal in 2 years. That's quite a decent climb up the career ladder...

They were pressured to make series 2 more exciting by the network. After s2 it was cancelled and moved to Direct TV where they were able to make the show they wanted.

Watched John Carter with the kids this evening and, lo and behold, Tim Riggins is also John Carter. Knew he had it in him. 🙂

Edit: Apologies about that and if that ruined it for anyone. Out of interest, is there a guideline on what counts as a spoiler or what you can discuss about a show? Does anything go if you include a spoiler heading in your post for instance? I actually thought I was quite careful in saying that I had accidentally heard about what happens to a certain character before seeing the episode, but made sure not to actually say what it was that happened, although I guess saying where it happened may have been a clue. How did that differ from the recent in depth discussion of what is happening in the latest series of Mad Men?

I have a soft spot for Banshee too. It's such a ridiculous show, but there's something very appealing about that grimy look. The action scenes are the best ones on tv. Hood fights like a convict:
