Finished season 2 of House of Cards yesterday. Thought it was brilliant. Maybe not as good as season one, but still one of the 2-3 best shows on tv atm. I actually prefer this version to the original. Not only is this updated and more relevant, but it feels more "flexible". Underwood, unlike Urquhart, isn't near omnipotent. He has to constantly adapt his plans and improvise. It feels more realistic and makes for better TV. Too bad Underwood is surrounded by idiots. God damn Stamper!

Its not even a tiny bit realistic and everyone just does the wrong thing even though it makes zero sense so that Underwood always has an easy out. I can be entertaining but its not top TV, not by a long shot. Its closer to Scandal than it is to stuff like The Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, etc

Heroes reborn in 2015, the first series of Heroes was fantastic. Hope they actually make this work and don't fuck up again. Need to get the original writers from that show and work hard to get a script that works. Wonder if any of the original cast will come back, apart from Syler the others haven't really done that well since leaving.

Yep, first season was great. The rest was pretty forgetable, though I seem to remember the final season being ok.

First season was good until the last episode when everything just concluded with a bit of a shit fight. Was the last season the circus one?

True, Season 3 started off well but quickly turned out shit as well.

Think they need to do a reboot and just ignore everything from season 1 onwards, depends on how many original cast members they can get back though.

Wasn't the story at the time that Kring wanted to kill off most of the cast at the end of the first series but NBC wouldn't let him because their market research said people liked the characters too much. I always thought it could have been a great show if they'd just let him do what he had planned.

Don't remember that but I think one of the main writers, surname was Fuller or something like that left and a lot of people blamed the poor stories afterwards on him leaving. Some said if anything Kring had too much control and just messed things up

What you watching these days qs? Remember back on the mania forums we used to watch similar programs. Hardly watch anything these days!

Finished Hannibal last night. Good show but its very pretentious and tries a bit hard. Mightn't bother with the second series until its all aired.

Going to start Vikings next. Anyone seen it?

It's a typical HBO show. Sex, nudity, religion. It's not a must watch but you'll probably enjoy it if you do.
