One of the reasons for a delay in my case is that my girlfriend's not too keen.
I actually think she'd at least partly like it, because (at least so far) it's quite tonally different from the Hopkins films, but she's professed a certain squeamishness about all the cannibalism, slashed throats and so on.
Still, one of the better season openers I've seen for a long time, also seems to have a refreshingly different focus from the usual plot-driven stuff (so far).
