I'd expect us to have a conversation with Leicester and figure out how much they'd be willing to sell him for. £30m for a 25 year old who was POTS in the PL last year obviously isn't enough in this market.

I would suspect that the conversation was with his agent and the opening bid is somewhere near what he suggested and brings Leicester to the table (if true).

underbid then hope the player/agent agitates for a move, and weakens the selling clubs position. the thing is leicester gave been very vocal about keeping him, and although he might be interested in coming i cant see mahrez trying to force his way out.

It's all subjective, but I'd say it would be just about right, and that's by crazy market standards. Don't consider Mahrez world class so paying anything approaching 50m would be huge.
