that would be unbearably dull. seriously.Β
I hear mainstays Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) will all be paid north of $500,000 an episode for Season 7, which has been officially picked up, and Season 8, which is widely expected. HBO has not specified the size of the order for Season 7, but speculation has been that both Season 7 and Season 8 would be shorter than the standard for the show 10 episodes, possibly seven episodes (Season 7) and six episodes (Season 8 ).
They've said earlier that they see 13 more episodes after this season, so that makes sense.
I've edited to blank out the names. Considering the nature of the show it's just as much of a spoiler to know who'll survive as it is to know who'll die.
I'm not a big fan of shorter seasons, would rather they did one long one instead.
Same. I've seen nothing from the GoT people that suggests they know how to handle the tighter plotting that shortened seasons would require either. They're already writing their seasonal arcs like they were doing 22 episode seasons. I'm doubtful they could round off the show successfully in the span of 20 episodes if they started right now. It's not going to happen in 13.

Yeah Vince Gilligan or Matthew Weiner B&H aint. And even on those shows I'd have preferred normal final seasons rather than the split format.

π You have to be a real saddo to pay for something like this where the only point is to spoil shit for others. If you are going to be a dick, then do it properly at least and write your own texts. π

The way my 3 day old "spoiler" was greeted here, that would be quite a dish served cold.
Cersei climbed from a top 3 to my all time favourite ASoIaF character tonight.
As predictable as it was, the part at King's landing was the only part about the episode that I liked.
@Biggs Still trying to exonerate yourself for posting such a crummy spoiler? Give over. π
i liked that finale for the simple fact that you felt the sense that a coherent end game is being set up
arya finally getting a fist pump moment, and r + l = j being virtually confirmed was good as well
oh andΒ
is the new

So Dany now has the Unsullied, the Dothraki, the Iron Fleet, Dorne, the Tyrells and three dragons. And Cersei has what exactly? They have a big problem on their hands convincing us this ensuing battle will be close.
It probably won't be about the battle for the iron throne ultimately. It will be about defeating the walkers before they kill and turn everything that moves in Westeros.

It genuinely sounded like he went and flushed his crown down the toilet right before. π

For sure, but Dany won't take two seasons to take the Iron Throne. The way the deck is stacked her way it probably won't take two episodes. And we will have the King In The North and The Dragon Queen combining their forces to defeat The Night King. A bit predictable but hey, it's been a cool journey.
Great episode. The entire King's Landing part played out beautifully, the score felt very unlike GoT, but was still excellent.
Oh, and I didn't care for Sansa looking all gloomy when the Northern Lords proclaimed Jon the King in the North. I don't buy that Littlefinger's fantasies made an impression on her. But they will probably run with it, since Littlefinger is one of the few unpredictable elements left in the story.
