If Kante is coming in for Coquelin I'm all for it, but otherwise it doesn't make sense to me. We need more rounded technical players throughout the squad.

Kante and Xhaka only leaves us with two midfielders, Xhaka and Cazorla, who can pass the ball consistently under pressure. Santi is slow and old as well. Such a strange way to build a team to play fluid, attacking football.

I think Wenger wants Kante because he was literally playing for two people in each of the 33 games he started this season. I have only seen one other player with similar energy levels, and that was Edgar Davids.

Ramsey was our first choice right winger this season and will probably be first choice next year too. It's not ideal, but it fits Wenger's modus operandi perfectly. We wouldn't be Arsenal if we didn't start with 3-4 players who are unsuited to the positions they are playing.

Is Wenger really going to sign Kante and Xhaka? Can't see it. Don't think we'll get the forward we need if he does.

I think the forward is dead in the water too unless we somehow get Morata on a structured deal. I'm not sure why Real Madrid would be that nice to us though. Then again Walcott leaving will probably free up some extra money, and along with the other three out the door it should also free up a chunk of wages that we can redistribute without growing our already huge wage bill significantly.

The biggest issue is that I don't think we're that ambitious. We've been sticking with solutions that 'sorta' work for years. Finishing 2nd is probably a confirmation to Wenger that he's been well justified in doing so.

Very true, and it's infuriating after all those years of watching threadbare teams of 20-year-olds. No light at the end of the tunnel. Just a willingness to skate by, even when there are so many financial incentives to being a successful team, and even when there's a massive vacuum at the top of English football.

I don't like the look of Xhaka and I don't think Kante fits in here, unless we completely overhaul the way we play. Kante fits perfectly in a direct styled counter attack team, not a team that wants to dominate possession. Wenger's absurd transfer market strategy continues...

if we are going to play 3 midfielders with ozil ahead of them, then i like the idea of kante. he can sit in the center and break up play and he can run for days. he isnt a technically brilliant passer, but his job would be to break up counters and get the ball to the two other CMs. id be fine with that. if we are going to play the bullshit 4-2-3-1, then i think we need a more well rounded CM
