Honigstein mentioned that if Dortmund sells Mhiki, they won't sell PEA. Another big reason to get him and keep City away from PEA.

Dortmund really is good at these replacement games though. They easily had a more productive and better fit in Mhiki who replaced Gotze effectively.

Bild is linking us, Chelsea and United and says the price is €30m. Mkhitaryan has told Dortmund he will give them his decision over his future by the end of the week.

AFCAMDEN has tweeted this:

@Total__Football @Okonkwo68211394 @claytsAFC we're in talks mate that's all I know. But when I'm given a name, usually a good sign.

Get it done Wenger.

If he can replicate his output in the EPL, EUR 30m is nothing.

@AFCCAMDEN
Vardy & Mkhitaryan in the pipeline. Chance Gibbs and Ox will go out.

--------Vardy---------
Mkhitaryan-Ozil-Sanchez

Four guys all capable of producing more than 20 goals/assists in one league campaign. Would be pretty exciting times if we make it work.

Looks like Wenger is trying to get lethal in transitions. Vardy and Mkhi aren't top players but hard to argue that they aren't good value purchases IMO. Hard to buy top class when you didn't bring in an outfield player at all last season, too many holes to fill.

i'd be reasonably happy with that front 4.

wenger should be deported if he can't get goals out of that unit

That with options such as Giroud, Walcott and Welbeck (eventually) off the bench would be a massive upgrade. I'll be amazed if we get both Vardy and Mkhitaryan though.

Ditto.

Welbeck's out till March.

He shouldn't even be considered as an option next season.

Two strong transition players. Neither are top class but Vardy would be a nice counterpoint to Giroud and Mkhi would make us less dependent on Wilshere's fitness to get production (from somebody besides Alexis) from the wide positions.

Much as I would love to have him here, really doubt we will land Mkhitaryan, between Raiola being his agent and Utd's alleged interest, there's no way he's coming here. I'd put 10 quid at let's say 3/1 odds that our front four for the Liverpool game or even for Southampton will be Giroud, Ozil, Sanchez, Iwobi OR 2/1 odds of Vardy/other new striker, Ozil, Sanchez, Iwobi.

The same Raiola who's pictured at Arsenal with a young player who's his client recently?

Mkhitaryan may or may not come but people need to lay off these unsubstantiated conspiracy theories.

dotmunds ceo has said they'll keep him one more year. but after lewy left last year he said they'd never let a player leave on a free ever again

Yes, absolutely. As people have noted even earlier on this thread, he is a Mourinho attacker and seems like that's where he will end up come August. I hope we can at least replicate Dortmund's strategy and end up with some high quality young talents, especially in attack, but doesn't look like AW's thoughts are anywhere in that direction.

Yeah you'd have to ask is Vardy/Mkhitaryan better than just Higuain, etc? It probably is.

That's basically the argument, we're two top class attackers short in our front three, so we can benefit from shopping around a bit in the second tier.

You could've said the same about Giroud and Podolski.
