Agüero, Gündogan and Kompany make for an injury prone spine.

Also, they've spent some €100m on CBs in the past few seasons and they still need a big signing in that department? It really does seem like PL clubs are run by idiots.

Only one of that bunch that's likely to start is Rode (and Dembele if Mkhitaryan leaves) and that one they only got because Bayern felt guilty about raiding them year in year out. Mor and Merino are infants and Bartra will be at Stoke soon enough, Zorc messed up big time by buying the latter instead of paying up for Toprak.
But yeah at least they are proactive and try to improve their squad before the inevitable exodus leaves them bare.

Kompany's injuries don't seem to go away. Mangala is either super solid or as thick as a turnip.
Otamendi is a solid player. Laporte is just signing the a top young defender in preparation for the future. Only problem I see in having those 4 is none are ball playing CB's who can bring it out of defence. I would have expected Jones to be linked to City but apparently not.

Good point.
Bailly moves to United for around £30m subject to a work permit (@DuncanCastles)
Poor man's Mangala. Definitely not a Jose signing.
what do you mean? isn't he the manager?
Mangala's a poor man's Mangala himself. Going to be an interesting project for Guardiola.

Likely that Woodward/The Panel made the decision to go for him before Jose was signed. Jose just gave the okay. All guesswork though, mainly due to him not being a Jose type of signing.
TheSun exclusive - Matic tells Chelsea he's desperate the join Jose at United.
Gladbach sign German international Christoph Kramer on 5 year deal

He doesn't seem like he has a type to me.
Beyond expensive don't think he has a type
Spurs in advanced negotiations for Janssen for 12m. Don't like that at all, I think he is a very good striker and goalscorer. Future RVN. Seen him in the last few Netherlands friendlies as well and think he will be a very good player.
That's the kind of move we should be doing in addition to a Vardy one. If we're going to spend 20m pounds on a 30 year old striker instead of a 60m investment in Aubama/Higuain, then we really should be augmenting with a punt on someone like Janssen.
I hope Wenger has this kind of thinking in his head.
Pjanic to Juventus
Agreement with player and Juve will pay release clause of 37m euros (They will actually only pay 30m euros to Roma though)

That's a great transfer for Juve.
Meh....he's technically great and assists a fair few. Good set piece taker too but better players out there.
Should have joined us when he was leaving Metz but chose a club that didn't help his development.
I think he is a terrific player myself and it's great business by Juve.
