clearly a fire sale at dortmund now though. i think hummels opened the floodgates

See what I mean when I said Vardy was Wenger cheaping out again?

How much is Auba going for?

The minimum price I see is 75m euros.

That's a lot of money. /michaelowen

If they have Aubama, Aguero and Bony (after dumping Dzeko), while we fumble with Giroud and Walcott, I'll be incensed. They spent 80m pounds on wide forwards last year. I wish we would just stretch ourselves for one signing. Just the one big splash.

Giroud's a much better player than Bony in my view, but I take your point. Also, I think it was actually £110m they spent on wide forwards last summer!

I would guess if Guardiola is actually interested in Aubameyang it's because he wants him out wide. Can't see him playing ahead of Aguero or playing them both in a two.

Pep's got a history of playing strikers wide left, Aubameyang could play that role well and has shown he the goals in him to make it work.

Vardy-Sanchez-Mkhitaryan v Auba-Aguero-Bruyne

i actually would like that as our front 3. obviously there's would be excellent but i wouldn't feel envious or anything.

58m pounds for Aubameyang is really not a lot. I am happy with Vardy as our striker but I wonder why we didn't try for PEA if he is available.

City wants to sign PEA and Laporte together with Gundogan. I wouldn't be that worried about that especially if we do our own deals properly.

Dortmund has signed Emre Mor, Sebastian Rode, Marc Bartra, Mikel Merino, Ousmane Dembele by the first week of June. Raphael Guerreiro is also a dead cert to join them. Talk about advanced planning.

£58m + the wages he must be getting is a HUGE money for us. Even if we matched it, they can easily still offer more. We need players on other positions too, cant expect to pay this kind of money for one position.

Nah, we could swing it. Just don't want to.

Shame we didn't get him for 7m when he moved from St Etienne.

Don't think there's anything in this. It's probably a red herring.

I'll be extremely surprised if it happens.

I wanted him then, even. Don't need scouts for anything but unearthing youth talent these days. Klaus could just feed recommendations straight to Wenger's inbox and it'd be just as well.

We've needed an elite striker to rotate with Giroud for the last 3-4 years. Not having a player of this quality possibly cost us a league title this year. 58million pounds plus 30million pounds in wages for 4 years should be doable given what is at stake. Also, remember that Ozil, Monreal, Cazorla, Cech, Giroud, Koscielny, Mertesacker are getting on. We don't have the luxury of half measures. We need to win now with these guys before blowing it up again. The next manager under Wenger could find himself in a Moyes-United situation. Let's at least have a trophy in the bag before then.

We could swing it, then Man City would just up it. We cant compete for the very top players at the very highest prices. We need to buy 2-3 players more, so opting for £20m Vardy is totally acceptable in this situation rather than spending most of our budget on 1.

Feels like someone like a Les Reed or a Michael Zorc is the one we need to sign the day Wenger leaves. It's what any well run company would do - football clubs in England are just really late in adopting I guess.

Dortmund are also resigned to selling all their players to the Premier League this season, so they need to be more proactive in the markets

£58m is a lot for Dortmund, it'll be hard to stomach for the fans, losing so many great players, but it's almost too much to turn down.

------------Aguero---------
Aubameyang---Silva---DeBruyne
------Gundogan-Fernandinho---
Clichy--Laporte-Kompany--Sagna

FAKIN HELL. Scintillating.

Silva's not the sort of player Guardiola usually has as a Number 10 - will be surprised if he plays there. And Clichy and Sagna won't cut it going forward so they're probably going to need two new fullbacks. Kompany is never fit which is a big problem for them and Laporte is still recovering from a broken leg and dislocated ankle. Fernandinho and Gundogan doesn't scare me one bit either.

A team that certainly isn't anywhere near the class of the one he put together at Bayern, let alone Barcelona.
