I don't agree, I think it illustrates perfectly that the FA Cup means little if anything to a lot of the fans.

Nah I agree with Daz Y va, many people are saying that even if he had've won the PL he should go.
If we looked like we were going anywhere people would lap up the FA cup and put it in the cabinet with the rest of 'em, but we are not stupid we know we're not going anywhere we knew it was just a laugh.

Exactly, in the scheme of things the FA Cup means little to you.

And I have to say that Wenger for all his vilification of the competition has been spectacularly successful in it.
This seems to be a horrible killing joke.
The man knows how to win cups, he knows the style of football that will win a cup competition not only in England but in Europe- Our 2006 CL campaign proves it.

But he chooses to not play that type of football.
And he chooses not to buy players that would compliment this style.

This in my opinion is Wengers biggest insult to us and his biggest mistake.

I agree with this - he's seen beyond the looking glass enough times to know what he should do but he's too much of a company man and too inflexible to change. But that's also why he's never managed to completely capitulate and fall out of the top five like Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United have.

Look, for all my talk of Wenger the idiot Wenger the cretin its just insults.
He is neither, he has done just about everything in football dare I say it- Wenger knows.....

But he has instead chosen the board and the money men over us the fans therefore that makes him our enemy therefore he must go.

Starting to think you're just contrarian for the fuck of it Biggus, now that you finally have everybody here in the Wenger Out camp you're going soft on him again.

I'm with Mirth. Martial looks like he's going to turn into one of the best players of his entire generation to me. He's exactly what we needed. It annoys me to no end that United got him. And from Monaco no less! It's just inexplicable. Wenger might be past it as a manager but he's still as good as ever when it comes to spotting a player. Either he fell asleep at the steering wheel or he didn't think any club would pay Monaco's asking price.

I think it was the latter, a lot of raised eyebrows at the money Man Utd paid.  Seemed like Monaco thought yeah lets stick a stupid price on him, that will scare them off.  Man Utd turned around and we'll take him!

United/Chelsea completely out of the top 4 or momentarily out of the top 4?

United have spent 2 out of the past 3 seasons out of the top four already. It's hard to predict how things will shape up but if LvG is in charge I wouldn't hold my breath.

😆 Exactly my thoughts. Either Biggus is in an especially positive mood today or his kid has managed to get a hold of Biggus' OMITT password...

In 1990, Alex Ferguson needed to beat Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final to keep his job.

In 2016....

I like van Gaal and think he's an decent manager but if they win the FA Cup and it keeps him as manager then that would be fucking ace!

I regard 2006 CL as a total and utter fluke for wenger. (Team did great though) Helped by the change in the backline and formation due to injuries across the board. And that run has never happened before nor after under wenger. I don't know how you can use that in the cups argument for wenger, Biggus. Also weren't you on his case last year with the "players won the cup DESPITE wenger, not because of him" line.

There were definitely injuries to the back line but it's hard to argue those injuries were beneficial to the team in any way. Unlike, say, when Debuchy got injured and we found Bellerin or Arteta got injured and we found Coquelin

If anything, the injuries probably made Wenger more defensive minded for a change and we had the best striker in the world effectively carry our attack on his own

that's actually my argument. It made him defensive minded and thus the solid performances at the back and the resulting narrow goal wins over real and villareal.

Well I'm actually condemning him more Jonesy, I believe he is choosing and persisting in this style of football and selection of players despite knowing a more physical counter attacking pragmatic one will produce better results.
In this sense hes bad not mad and this is much more worthy of our contempt.

Said it before, there's a reason you need to win the FA Cup to win the Double.

Fergusons gone and United are shit.

Yeah, and there never has been an upset in the FA cup.
