What has Rodgers ever done to deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Hiddink, who's one of the the greatest managers out there when it comes to getting results in the short term?

Yeah, I don't quite get the Hiddink being a joker thing either.

It would, however, be a great joke if they appointed Brentan Rodgers. As Jenko would say - great banter.

Sky zay 77 points is the average for a top 4 finish and Chelsea would need to win all but one of their remaining games to manage that.

Nothing. I don't like Hiddink but he's a top class manager. Brentan Fraudgers is a fucking joke.

TBF to Rodgers he is nearly 30 years younger than Hiddink. I think Chelsea should take a risk on someone a bit like Rodgers, an up and comer. Probably not Rodgers himsepf though. Id like to see him take a job abroad.

I'd love to see Chelsea take a risk on Rodgers too, the players probably wouldn't take his garbage seriously and they'd finish the season somewhere between 13th and 17th

Is Rodgers anything more than a Premier League quality manager who had a period in the limelight with a notorious gang of glory hunters? Pocchettino, Martinez, Koeman and Pardew all have everything he's got and more. Heck even Tony Pulis does.

I think people write Rodgers off too easily. He has a lot to prove but he did as much as could be expected with Liverpool and more. Klopp wont manage as high a finish as Brenton did. He has everything to prove and a terrible public image. Thats why i think he should go abroad.

Klopp does not have Suarez and a fit Sturridge.
Jury still out on Rodgers, I believe.

Liverpool generally damages a managers career. They'll probably take the gloss of Klopp to.

I don't think Rodgers is that bad a coach either. I'd love him to go to Chelsea though, he'd be hilarious.

Yeah, that's what I think as well.

  • Eden, remember: there is only one person you can trust, and that is yourself. Then you have to trust me as well. And the fans. And your family. So, remember: you can only trust yourself.

His whole career is based on one season where Suárez was ripping everyone up. The moment he lost him Liverpool turned to shit, which makes me think it's more down to old Bitey McRacist than Rodgers' managerial ability

Does Enrique triple last year not count because he's got possibly the greatest front line ever? Guardiola has never proven himself with an average team either, is the jury out on him? It's a weird attempt to discredit Rodgers achievement in getting that joke team to almost win the title. Wenger couldn't challenge for the league with just RvP, AvB didn't almost win the league with Bale. So it can't be that easy.
Klopp couldn't hold on to top four either without Lewandowski, despite having a much higher quality team than Rodger's. Outside of Suarez and Sturridge Liverpool was a midtable quality team.

If Rodgers was a well spoken foreigner like AvB, everyone would be licking his ass. But because he looks like the Hunchback of Notre-Dame and oozes cringe every time he opens his mouth he is a joke now.

Come now Arteta.
Nobody misses him.
Even Liverpool supporters know Rodgers was a Brenton.
I don't hear any praise from players he has managed and all his top players (Suarez and Sterling) couldn't wait to get out of his cult commune due to his shitness and weirdness. He even tried to destroy the legacy of one of their top legends (Gerrard) in the least classy way possible (through the papers).
Also don't give me that "if he was a foreigner bs ..." as you know the right answer would have been the fate suffered by Mourinho six months after Suarez left.

No, they just saw what he did the season before and the season after.

One of the worst posts of the year topped off with accusations of racism, well done.

You're right, not the handling of several transfer sagas in which he tried to destroy the public image of his players, not the complete shithouse seasons before and after Suárez exploded in 13/14, not the millions wasted on utter garbage, not the fucking envelopes and thousands of other embarrassing public episodes are why people don't rate Rodgers, it's clearly because he's British.

"I think there’s three players who will let us down this year — the cause, the fight, everything – and I have written them down already in these three envelopes. Make sure you are not in one of the envelopes."

It still makes me laugh out loud. 😆

Didn't write him off—I'd bracket him with the other Premier League coaches I mentioned. Take someone like Pocchettino, he's brought two groups of Premier League players together now with sound fitness, training and motivation. He might struggle with the egos at Chelsea but he's got a recognisable method.
