Simeone would kick the shit of our lazy players, the board, the owner, as well as the fans. It's exactly what is needed, an injection of passion and emotion at all levels. Which is exactly why it will not happen.

Why are you in the business of offering up other men's nuts, Flobaba?
My only concern with Nagelsmann is does he have the star power to bring in the Ozil, etc replacements we need to draw? This is still why I woul dfavor a bigger name like an Aleggri or a Simeone. I want someone who will scare the shit out of our current laers, and then attract a few super quality players.

I need mines boss.

Star power will only come into play in a situation where we have offered comparable financial terms with the competition. We hardly ever do that, so it's a moot point in my opinion.

Plus I would not mind seeing what we can achieve with technically and fundamentally sound players and coaching first, before the embellishment of superstars. I think our profile as a club in general still makes us an attractive proposition for the upper tier players, say 90th-95th percentile, even if the very cream of the crop still remain beyond our reach.

I reckon the manager thing is a bit of a joke, tbh.

Neither Allegri or Simeone had big reputations as coaches before getting gigs at Milan and Atletico respectively. They came in and did well with what they had/could get and built credibility over time. Top players want big money and a big chance of winning. The likelihood of this increases when they play with other top players (who are being paid well, etc.). Three of the last six CL winning managers were Di Matteo, Enrique and Zidane. Do we really think these guys are some of the best in world football?

Simply, two of those guys managed the most expensive squads in history. The third is a Championship manager last I checked, so his fluke is not even worth discussing.
Given that we do not have 7 or 8 bonafide superstars on our team, it's imperative that we aim very high for the manager. I'm also a believer that we should call Sanchez and Ozil's bluff, so getting a manager they can respect would help us secure their services.

This Bayern-Dortmund game has been great.

Dortmund are lucky not to be 5-0 down but Guerreiro has just slammed one in from 25 yards to get them back into it at 2-1.

Bayern is next level. Mature, professional team.

Tuchel pulling just short of Wengers 5-1.

They did look a bit Arsenal-like.

It was ridiculous that they let Robben have a run at Schmelzer over and over and over again. He could have scored 8 goals and if he wasn't so greedy could instead have had 4 assists.

Tuchel did nothing to change it and stop it happening. They were weakened badly by injuries but he just opened up and tried to go toe-to-toe with a near full strength Bayern. Very naive and foolish.

Robben is just nuts. Every man and his dog knows he will cut in, yet nobody can ever stop him from doing that.

Just look at all his goals, completely replicas. Truly the master of a one trick.

At this point it's literally the fault of the fullback every single time he scores. Everyone knows what he's gonna do at this stage. He does get stopped by the way because otherwise he'd score in every single game, and he doesn't. The players who let him get past are idiots.

I don't blame the fullbacks though. If they show him out wide, he would put a throughball for the overlapping defender to cross. Bayern scores a lot this way. That aside, most of his finishing is pretty unstoppable as well. He has beaten a lot of very good defenders to score this type of goal.

Robben pulls it off because his pace is unreal, even keeping up with him while running back to goal is a challenge so showing him one way or another is going to be a challenge.

He's a tricky mofo. Shifts, feints, dips, and a deceptively quick turn of pace.

Blaming defenders for not stopping him is almost like blaming defenders for not stopping Messi. He's really that good when on form.

Exactly, showing him wide would have to be done in such an over the top way he'd just blow past you.

Wolfsburg was playing against Madrid in the UCL QF last season and was unlucky to lose.

They are now in a relegation play off. Incredible job by Jonker.
